Our Story Begins in Guadalajara
In October 2018, nestled in Concord Mall, a new culinary adventure began with José Ruiz at the helm. Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, José brought with him a vast knowledge and a passion for Mexican cuisine that was like no other.
Having started in the bustling kitchens of El Mexicano in Plaza Tapatía, Jose's culinary path took him across the border, to the United States, where he found himself cooking at La Casita under the direction of Don Miguel.
Family, Flavor & Tradition
After two decades perfecting his craft, Jose, along with his life partner Celina, saw the opportunity to bring a piece of Mexico to Goshen. With their kids Christian and Daniela by their side, they transformed an old Subway into a vibrant Mexican restaurant.
For six years, they delighted Concord Mall customers with their tasty dishes and warm hospitality. However, when construction at the Concord Mall required a change, the Ruiz family embraced the situation with optimism and excitement.

Now located on East Madison Street, La Perla Tapatia Goshen continues to thrive, serving delicious meals and creating endearing memories for the community. Embarking on this new chapter, the Ruiz family invites everyone to join our culinary adventure, sharing laughs, good food, and maybe even a mariachi serenade or two.
